Make live customer data continuously available
In order for the solution to fulfill the goals set by senior management as a user friendly and data rich self-service portal it needed to have live customer data continuously available. As industry leaders in ground-breaking energy supply options, a key differentiator for Naturgy is the ability to provide customers with dynamic highly flexible offerings tailored to their needs at specific points in time. This means a constant flow of dynamically changing data based on customer consumption patterns and supply contracts. The MyNaturgy portal needed to be able to surface that data securely in a flexible and user-friendly manner which would allow customer analysts and report creators to analyse and interpret that data in ways most useful to them with the least amount of manual intervention by Naturgy.
Client Solutions architected the portal to allow external access via an invitation and registration process which again leveraged the available Microsoft Office 365 process. We modeled the data in an Azure SQL database using PaaS and surfaced it in SharePoint where it was called via Azure Functions. The solution required a series of complex structured business processes. We leveraged Microsoft’s cloud-based Power Automate workflow automation system to design and configure the workflow processes.
